Getting started
Place the Puk, then leave it alone
Put it inside the zone, away from the door and off the floor, and give the readings time to settle before judging them.
Put the Puk inside the space it is watching, close the door, and let it be. From here the system runs itself: the screen cycles through your zones, the app shows them live, and you only hear from Tali when something crosses a line you set.
Where inside
- Away from the door. The air by an opening is the least representative air in the space.
- Off the floor, out of the corner. Mid-height, in open air, near the collection itself is what you want to know about.
- Away from the cooling unit. A sensor in the cold blast reads the machine, not the cellar.
- Not buried. Wedged behind bottles or under cedar, it measures a pocket.
Give it time
A Puk that has just been moved is still reading the air it came from. Wait before drawing conclusions — an hour in place tells you far more than the first minute, and the first day tells you more than the hour.
Range
Bluetooth reaches through wood and glass comfortably. Metal is what stops it: a steel-doored wine fridge, a safe, a foil-lined cabinet. If a Puk reports from the bench and goes quiet once the door closes, that door is the reason — move the Tali closer rather than the Puk.
